EARLY MONDAY, receiver River Cracraft was pondering his whirlwind weekend visits of Washington State and Boise State and told Scout.com he wasn't prepared to make any decisions until he "let it all sink in." By dinner, he was ready to join Mike Leach's Cougar Air Raid
River Cracraft
, who hails from Klay Thompson's alma mater, Santa Margarita Catholic outside of Los Angeles, told Scout.com's Greg Biggins this evening that he has verbally committed to WSU.
As a junior last season he earned All-State honors after catching 42 passes for 554 yards.
The Cougs were the first school to offer him a scholarship, back in May. Cracraft visited Pullman over the weekend with his parents, brother, and three Eagles teammates, including OL
Riley Sorenson
, who also has a WSU offer.
Cracraft told Chris Fetters of Scout.com that meeting WSU inside receivers coach
Eric Morris
was a highlight of his Pullman visit. "He's a great player, I've watched his highlights from when he played at Texas Tech, and he's the same type of player I am. It was cool to meet him and he was really nice. He's a good coach and he knows a lot. And
Mike Leach
- he's the legend. He's kind of like our coach at our high school (Harry Welch); you don't always know what he's doing, but you know he's doing it right."
As for Pullman, he told Fetters, "I've never been in a small town like that, but it was really cool. There were little (WSU) flags everywhere. If you're not a Cougar fan, you don't really belong there. I thought that was cool."
Cracract is the seventh known verbal commit in WSU's 2013 recruiting class, and the third in the last two days, following closely behind
Peyton Pelluer
and
Markell Sanders
, and the second receiver in less than a week, following
Demarcus Ayers
of Texas.
