Anytime you start at quarterback for the most successful high school football in the state, that says a lot. Being a three-year starter and leading your team to three consecutive state title games is almost unheard of. Those would be some of the accolades of Las Vegas high school QB O'Ryan Bradley.
Bradley (6-2, 185) is, simply put, the most successful quarterback to come out of the Las Vegas valley in many years. His success comes from, among other things, his toughness, work ethic and athletic ability. This kid is a winner and has the stats to prove it.
In the past two seasons, as O'Ryan led his team to back-to-back state titles, Bradley has tallied over 4300 yards passing and accounted for an amazing 43 passing TDs. He also completed nearly 60% of his passes while throwing less than 12 interceptions. On the ground, O'Ryan ran for over 1,000 yards and 20 TDs in that same span.
If you ask
O'Ryan Bradley
, teams are starting to take notice.
"I am really starting to get recruited very heavily by UNLV and Nevada-Reno. I have a visit set up for UNLV on January 19th. I will take that visit and see what happens."
Las Vegas is not known as a place that puts out top quarterbacks which has hurt O'Ryan's recruitment. Has the late start in recruiting hurt the local Rebels?
"No, I understand it takes time to evaluate a player. They are really recruiting me pretty hard now and that is what matters."
How would Bradley feel about playing for the hometown Rebels?
"I think it would be great. My Dad went to UNLV so I wouldn;t mind going. Also, I have talked to my friend Nate Carter who is also being recruited to play at UNLV. We talk about going to college together. Maybe we will both end up at UNLV."
Judging by the success of the Las Vegas High school football program under the leadership of players like Bradley and Nate Carter, Rebel fans should really hope both players end up at UNLV.
